Concealed carry permit, what is best way to get one?

Seriously. Because it's "At discretion of CFO" it means unless you hooked him up with his future wife, or sold him an 2012 AudiA6 for 5000$, it just won't happen.

Is it possible? SURE. But the CFO must really like you.
 
Become a trapper. Then you're allowed to carry open on you trap line and ONLY on your trap line (to my understanding)...

Other than that, you'd have to prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that your life is in danger... Unfortunately, the only way to get that is after something happens... Kinda like calling the cops...
 
The quickest way to get a concealed carry permit is to move down to one of the states that allow immigrants to do it, I think Utah and possibly Maine do, maybe some others.

As for a Canadian Authorization to Carry Restricted Firearms and Prohibited Handguns, go to the rcmp website and look under the Forms tab on the left side. The short of it is that you need to prove you are in immediate life-threatening danger. So, fill out the form, write a check for the application fee, and submit it. If you die during the processing period you will have successfully demonstrated that your life was in danger, and your application should be authorized. If you do not die during the processing period your life was obviously not in danger and your application will be refused and your application fee will not be refunded.


Other than that, you could get hired by Brinks or G4S or some other armed courier service, but they can only carry while on duty.

You could get a job with law enforcement, and your commanding officer might allow you to carry off duty.

Or you could go get a job in the wilderness and get wilderness carry for when you're away from civilization.
 
there is something like 22 people in all of Canada that have one, they only get issued in extreme cases for people that the police believe are in serious danger of being attacked.
 
I heard it was low double digits as well (closer to 40 though) for all ATCs in Canada and that it was mostly judges and high profile lawyers.

Other than that, Stevebot-7 is right. The application form requires you to list four (if memory serves) incidents where your life was in danger. Obviously, if the people trying to kill you are that bad shots, you don't need to carry.

if my life was in immediate danger id say screw the laws i do have the right to life and liberty after all im not going to wait for the form to be procesed

theres countless people around this city who carry without getting in trouble most of them are drug dealers too :HR:
 
Come to Arizona where I am - you can carry concealed no permit or carry open. Also most banks and store you can carry concealed or open carry here. This is real nice You can walk down street with 2 --45s if you want or go to Walmart wearing them. If you qualify you can even purchase a Full Auto Rules stricter for these and costs are enormous.

A friend just moved to Florida last year and wanted to get a handgun to carry while driving his Motorcycle, He went to apply for a concealed carry but when they found out he just moved from out of state he had to wait 60 days to apply! No problem, so while he was there he went over to apply for a fishing license,,, when they found out he was from out of state,, 6 months waiting period!! Thats a riot 2monthe for concealed carry, 6 months for fishing! he now has his concealed carry permit, still waiting to go fishing!!

Not exactly Thats what I was told But if you stay in Us 3 months in a row and live in home or motor home or trailor you can apply for permit. Thats what I did and have one. Canadians need permit to purchase approved by TBF -show they are in US 3 months , Copy of phone bill or utility bill showning 3 months,buy from gun shop-not private and get a Visa which is not to hard -not a working visa or green card, but just visitor visa and then get a form when you leave by air or cross border. You need alien admission number -obtained exactly at border or in airport. Note you have to go and get a visa. This includes fingerprinting there and about 140.00 cost. I was told even by gun shops that I could not get one. Further checking I proved them wrong I spent 2 yrs before I fiqured out what to do. Got many different answers including must be Citizen-not true Also first time need a hunting licence. After that you do not need anything. In fact if you apply for concealed permit then after that gun shops will give you guns without any background checks-just instant By the way I am a Canadian.

Better not cross the border into Mexico with a gun or it's a one way ticket to a Mexican prison. There is an American soldier that was visiting Mexico with his Grandpa's old long gun and ended up getting arrested by Mexican authorities and thrown in a jail that was essentially controlled by gangs. Not fun at all.
