Which Concentricity Gage would you choose

1) RCBS case master tool
2) Sinclair Concentricity Gage
3) Co-Ax® Case And Cartridge Inspector

I'm looking for a gage to measure bullet run-out, does anyone have experience with the gage's listed above

Thanks

I have the RCBS Case Master gauge and it works well. It also can be used to measure neck wall thickness as well as a hook for checking for head separation

My buddy has the sinclair runout gauge and it works really well, but it only measures bullet runout, it does not do anything else.

I have not seen what the Co_Ax case inspector looks like nor have I heard anything about it.

Hope this helps some.

Have owned the Forster and now own the Sinclair (hint, hint...) and my buddy has the RCBS, NECO, Sinclair and Bersin (which can "straighen" bullets too).

I like the RCBS and NECO the least. The Bersin only does bullet runout and is very cumbersome. What I didn't like about the Forster is that the back of the case is riding on the rim instead of the case body. It was way more cumbersom to switch between bullet and neck runout than the Sinclair too. Although, it can also do neck thickness, but not really well...

We both prefer the Sinclair. It is really smooth and fast to switch between bullet and neck. And yes, it does also do neck runout. The contact points are all on the case body which gives you a better representation of alignment relative to your chamber. They are ball bearings, not groves, and have a much better feel. Don't buy the cheap indicator they offer with it though, it's crap.

I agree about the Sinclair tool....the ball-bearings make it much easier to work with than a "cradle"....easier to avoid "chatter" when trying to measure run-out.

Thanks for all the reply....

I was leaning towards the Sinclair, just wanted some feedback first.

CyaN1de,
Does the hook on the RCBS work well for checking head separation.

kombayotch,
Is the dial indicator that comes as a package that bad. Which one do you have.

Thanks again

The dial indicator I got from them was not smooth. So, I returned it. Its a very cheap one (China) and these can be hit and miss. Better off getting the indicator from a local source and inspecting it before taking it home.
