Looking for input on my idea of putting Conetrol bases & rings on my CZ452. I have a American (22lr, LH) and a Leupold VxII 3-9 EFR rimfire that I need to mount. The guy at Conetrol recommended high rings in order for the bolt to clear the scope.

Conetrol rings have a reputation of quality and clean lines.

General opinions, experience, comments about this setup.

Conetrol was considered

In February I got a Kimber Classis 22 and the same scope you have. I decided I needed a fancy mounting system for it.

I considered Conetrol, M&K and Talley. I ended up going with Talley QD rings and bases just because most high end custom guns used them and that is the look I wanted. I have heard good things about Conetrol as well, plus they have a really neat look.

However geting them here to Canada is a real pain. After 7 weeks nothing had showed so I sent them an email and they checked into it. A couple days later they said that the package had been damaged by the postal service and returned to them. It was reshipped the next day but I have no idea when it may arrive.

I put regular bases on it and Burris Signature rings (won't scratch scope) for now so I can at least shoot it.

I hope you have better luck but be prepared to buy a cheap (but reliable) Weaver system until your Conetrol rings/bases arrive.

Just finished mounting a Bushnell 4X12X40 on a CZ 452 Varmint using Hawke Optics HM6106 high match mounts. Good quality, solid mounts. They even packaged 3 allen keys. $24.32 Cdn. plus shipping from Illingworth Imports in Sask. (www.airgunsonly.com) Good scope height, 3/8 inch clearance between barrel and objective. Good service, 4 days from day I ordered to my home.

I bought the BKL rings for mine, they shipped them out of the US no problem. Mounted a Mueller APV and it just clears the rear sight. Shoots excellent.
