Good evening.
I was hoping I could gather some opinions from CGN on what would be a good plinking milsurp. I have a number of self-loading rifles but my fav in 308 is now on the no-no list. I would like to be able to select something still in 308 if possible but am open to other relatively common cartridges that can be found in surplus quantities. I have an m1 carbine, m1 garand and SKS. I would like to add to that.
I am considering a garand in 308 or perhaps a FN49. I must admit I do not know a lot about FN49's but do find them to be attractive guns. Were they ever produced in any quantity in 308?
Other considerations?
Thanks for the opinions.
PS - I am not looking to be crucified about "telling the government about the other semis out there". They are well aware of what is out there...they don't need to come to CGN to find that info.
