That IS custom territory - we ordered one, waited ~4 months (none in Canada, I suspect they made it for us) and d@mn near cracked four-grand on it, once all is said 'n done.

Humm, no, that's semi-custom territory (Les Baer, Nighthawk, Guncrafter, Wilson, etc). Custom (SVI, etc) are north of 5 grand.

Just bought a Colt Competition 1911 in 9mm

The new Colt's are what Colt should ve been producing 17 years ago. I got a LW 9mm Commander. I like it. It rattles and has sharp edges but shoots great.

On the 1911 forum, the new Colts are getting mixed quality control reviews. Saying inspect the gun before you buy it.

I have a Competition 9mm on order through Arms East. First gun I have mail ordered that I'm having issues waiting for it.
