Ive always wanted a lever action, i could get myself an old 30-30, but it would most likely just sit in the gun cabinet as i have better rifles to take hunting. Now if i had myself a Browning BLR in 325wsm, i would have use for it while in the bush or on anything bigger than a white tail. Anybody have some good opinions on them? would you buy the takedown version? if you have the takedown, do you have the scope mounted on the barrel or reciever? Im looking to buy late summer if anybody has one in the caliber i want and is wanting to sell

Just buy one,you will not regret it.Steel reciever, right up to the new ones, they all work for me.Iam a fan of the straight grip, but you can get used to the pistol grip.No issues with the scope,on the take down models.

Go for it definitely. The BLR is a great first lever for somebody who wants a practical hunting lever. Everything about the BLR is smooth...the magazine, the sights, the action, the hammer, the list goes on. They shoulder great and are a pleasure to shoot. I would buy the takedown version if I had use for it. Only you can know if you will use this feature. If you think you will use it, then buy it. I prefer the straight grip but I would recommend handling both the straight and pistol grip before deciding. I would also get a short action. This limits you to calibers .358 and under but if this is suitable for the game you wish to hunt then go for it. Both actions are nice rifles but I just prefer the short action. Having said that, the 325wsm is one of the shorter/lighter long actions. It is only 4 ounces heavier than the short action and 2 inches longer. Either way, you can't go wrong the BLR is a great rifle.

Holy crap ^^^^
I just about missed this one.
If Gary says they're good, then they must be!!!

Full of win.
I figured the pistol grip was the token and a straight grip
358win happen to show up at a gun show. The price skeered me,
but a few laps around the table and a "I don't need that on there".
We met in the middle and I have been happier than a pig in chit.
I wish I discovered these years ago.
I think the trigger on this gal has been adjusted as it isn't horrible
as they make them out to be.

Giddee up go and don't looky back.

I also like the Blr they balance just right for me and its the perfect rifle to carry in the dense forest that I hunt.

Thanks for the input, do you guys have the scope mounted on the barrel or the receiver of the takedowns? i have no use for compacting a rifle to fit in a small case, BUT it would sure make cleaning easier, and a heck of allot easier to have an aftermarket barrel made up "wink wink".
