Considering an Anschutz, now 17hmr or another 22lr dilemma

The 1727F is an amazing piece of equipment with arguably one of the best triggers ever made, totally different category from the trigger on the 1761.
That said if you don't know what you're missing you won't miss it and compared to almost any other trigger the 1761 is very good.

can't they make a rifle with the nice trigger that 1727 has but with regular lift-push-pull type of bolt? that straight-pull bolt really is not my thing, when I saw it I thought it was semi-auto.

You need to try that Fortner straight pull action before you dismiss it. It is simply incredible and makes normal bolt guns feel rudimentary.

ok, next year maybe. I used up my 2022 rimfire funds already. Even next year I need to justify the reason to household procurement manager. I cannot just tell her like this: look it's different because it's straight pull and I don't need to lift a finger on the bolt. :)

They have in the past made repeaters with the 50xx series trigger, they were marked 54MSR. I believe they might be making them again. Last I looked price was almost as much as the 1727F, the trigger alone is $800.
I have a single shot 22 and an Air rifle with that trigger, it's exceptional.
