Some pretty hilarious prices.

We were expecting one of you show up soon. $260 in 1975 works out to about $1400 with inflation. These have not gone up nearly what you pretend they have. Since you have to be "that guy" go right ahead. Sending this thread straight to the top with every one of these types of posts just increases exposure.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I really wish people couldn't comment on business threads. All we want to know is what items are available not comments from Timmy two cents who wouldn't be able to afford it if it even if it was half the price. Rifles look really cool.

If people want to get real technical, $650 in 1980 (Saskatchewan Dimond Jubilee) works out to $2560 In todays dollars. Since the rifle sold for $2100, is that what you meant by the price being hilarious? Could have sold for $450 more?

I didn't mean to offend. I guess you'd have to see my perspective. I'm a long time Winchester guy. I have collected for many years, and I own quite a number of beauties, including some commemoratives. I was basing my comment upon what I paid only 5 years ago for two of these rifles. I'm actually happy to see how the prices have inflated.

I disagree. Having a convenient way to ask questions that many others may benefit from seeing the answer instead of the vendor having to answer the same questions repeatedly is appreciated. I imagine that the positive and excited comments only help sales as well.

Not all "negative" comments are without their place either, as the information offered may benefit the vendor as well. For example, if every comment reflected the consumers' stance that the product is over-priced and the vendor was not getting any orders, the vendor would benefit from the understanding of why. He would then be able to either lower the price or if there was no room to do so, decide to no longer sell that item in the future.

Of course there will be those times where only one or two people state that the price is too high, being in the minority with his belief, to which everyone else can simply disregard and move on, no big deal. That shouldn't be something that ruins your day. I'm sure you make the odd comment that not everyone agrees with as well, no biggie and shouldn't be something that anyone else should let ruin their day either.
