I'm contemplating a 58 or a 858 addition to the collection. What I'm interested in is compiling a list of all the "tacticool" parts and manufacturers to set up a list of wants and must haves to go with it. I'm not looking to build a competition rifle just a good range queen that offers a change from my AR platform and will allow me to train. Any suggestions?

Vz58's are a great platform. If you want to check out accessories see site sponsor zahal.org They have all the accessories in one spot. check out their site they have a new rifle builder feature.
I have the NEA hand guards they are good. Their upper is the only one that will cowitness that I know of.
B.C. Tactical accessories are nice too.
Here's mine cowitness with bushnell trs-25. NEA upper hanguard.

Fab Defense stuff is alright mid pack, Pistol grip is great but the handguards are well.... there are much better options.
Corwin Arms has a new set of Mil issue handguard's that are light years ahead of the Fab system for just a little more $$.

Wolverine also has a ArsenalCZ handguard set for $75 that was also better than my Fab stuff.(still have this set as back up)

BC Tactical system is kick ass and all their gear comes with a lifetime warranty(should have gone this route from the start).
Now I just need the BC Tactical bolt release and extended mag release .

Wasted time and money on some kit because lots of people had it. Spend the little extra and dont look back.

Don't know much about the 58 but I run a 858 and the thing operates flawlessly, it's got fab defense furniture but I'm not happy with the recoil absorbing stock- seems to bounce around abit. Also being nonrestricted I take it everywhere.

Run it stock like a boss for 1000 rnds. Then go for the Fab grip. then run it for another 500 and see what you want. there are a ton of teched out rifles with "only 350 rnds down it" that are BNIB on the EE.

I'm putting my list together too. The best place I found to shop for ideas is the 858/58 picture thread.
An 858 hit the EE today, lots of goodies on it.

I have to say I actually like the recoil reducing stock. I don't feel it bounce around, but then again I've only ever used it in the winter with a thick winter jacket on.

Thanks for the suggestions. I took a look at some of the options and BC Tactical seems to be the one that impressed me the most, but FAB seems to be the only one offering mods for the stock. Guess it will be a frankin-858.

Avocado - good suggestion, but I can do a 1000 rnd in a weekend just going through drills until I get the muscle memory down pat.

There are a few other stock options.

I like the look of the ACE stock with a stormworkz adapter. Corwin Arms has the updated military folder that has peeked my interest.

I'm still running the beaver barf stock, It works for now.

To me the single most important part to replace on the Vz/Cz is the mag release. You can get an ambi release (best option when available) or the extended Dlask release. Apart from the mag release all of the basic manipulations for the Vz are the same as the AK.

In next 2 weeks we should restock most of the out of stock items. At the moment we have this hand guards in stock, They are high strenght polymer with aluminium rails installed. This set comes with heat shield already installed. Heat shield is modified at the factory to offer thight fit, running red dot on them is no problem. They are very easy to install
