Trying to figure out if I could convert my Mossberg Patriot 6.5 Creedmoor to a 300 Blackout, obviously I will need a new barrel. But is it even possible?

I have an MDT LSS Gen2 chassis for the 6.5 so would like to re used what I have if possible... Or would it be easier to sell it and start from scratch with a 223 action?

thanks in advance

Thanks, that's what I figured... Will post it for sale

I also have a MRA Renegade I built with a 10.5" 300 blk barrel, but not loving the pullback action. So might sell them both and build a short barrel bolt action 300 blk on modern chassis :)

Ruger used to sell 16" 300blk rifles that took AR-15 magazines a bit hard to find now (something about the 300blk model being Cabela's exclusive which they never made a second order)

Its still commonly available in 7.62x39 and .223

It sure was lol. Old picture, I wanted the scope mount quick release on the other side, so had it on backwards to check the fit :p

So looking at the MDT chassis, not much seems to be compatible with 223 (300blk) and AR mags, except for the MVP which is an interesting option as it already takes AR mags, so nice compatibility if I go to an MDT chassis later on

So all I would need is a barrel, right?

Quick research says the 223 mossberg is compatible with savage prefit barrels but i'd ask around first. Bolt action barrels aren't one size fits all.

Yes it's going to have to be built around the barrel. I've sent a few inquiries to a few Canadian companies that make barrels about a blue 10" 300 blk barrel in 1:7 twist. Hoping to find something around $500

Open to suggestions on Canadian custom barrel builders
