I love the AIA M10's and have owned a couple, only to sell later cause I like .303's and only want to have and load for 1 caliber. Anyway, would it be reasonably possible to convert one from 7.62x51 to .303? would .311 be too big for .0308 barrel?

Seems pretty silly to try and convert an AIA to .303. Magazine and bolt head would need to be overhauled, and may or may not feed anyhow. Instead of modding an $800 rifle to shoot like a $400 rifle, why not just buy the $400 rifle?

cause I have few of those already, and I think an AIA in .303 would be cool. I never claimed it was a rational idea :)

If you insist on doing this conversion, use the original barrel, get a reamer made up that is a tight fit for the 303 case. Not one with a sloppy chamber.

This mod, will shoot both 308 to 312 bullets out of the 303Brit case in that rifle, without a hiccup. It may even shoot the large diameter bullest well.

Your rifle, do as you will, but remember, it will be a $400 rifle, maybe, when you're done. Little or no difference in the ballistics either.

it would be worthless after done id leave it and buy a real lee enfield you will find the no 4 mk 1 (or mk 1/2 or mk 2)

now that the AIA rifles are alittle hard to find it be worth it to sell

I'm confused! Why not reload for 2 calibers and be done with it! They'll use the same powder, primers and you'll need different bullets and a $35 set if dies! Seems trivial to go to all of that work just so you only have to load .303. Even when I load for my Ross and 2 lee Enfields they all will like diffent loads so no matter what I'm loading batches for each gun, or I sacrifice accuracy.
