Converting 243 to 7mm-08

I have necked down some 308 to 7mm-08 in the past, but the necks get awful close to the max diameter (.001 under). I found that I have a lot of 243 brass and a lot of it is the same make. Is there any down falls of necking 243 up to 7mm-08. I seem to be able to do it with a single pas though the FL sizer. I am just wondering about the necks splitting quickly etc.

Just anneal and you should be fine.

The may have a shorter life as they will be thinner.

I am now buying Lapua 308 and necking down to 7-08 , then turning to true up.

Way better brass with long life..308 Lapua brass is not much more money than other brands and you get far more service.

Invest in a Lee collet neck sizer as well, way less stress on the necks and less trimming as it doesn't stretch the brass.
