I have a Caspian IPSC open gun. It is 9 x 21. I am looking to convert it to 38 super or super comp.

What do I need to do.

1. New barrel?
2. Extractor?
3. Slide

Is is worth converting? or just get another gun in the caliper I want.

I am looking for some ideas.

thanks

The 9x21 is fatter at the back by the extractor groove than .38 super or .38 super comp. Simply rechambering is not an option. I'd go for a new barrel.

Well, yes, and no...

If the 9x21 chamber is cut on the skinny side, it will indeed rechamber nicely to .38S - not to factory dimensions, but certainly as tight as a lot of .38S IPSC Open gun barrels (we don't run 'em tight...).

If it is even slightly over spec, it will be too large at the rear to successfully rechamber to .38S and the result will be bady bulged brass. Only carefully measuring the chamber will tell the tale.
