Long title but that is a question im looking for an answer for.I have a winchester i think it is early 90s.It has the blind mag with a trapdoor release and i would like to have a detachable mag setup in it.Does anyone have any experience or imput on the situation?Any responses would be helpful.Thanks.

Pacific tool and gauge does make some detachable mag floorplates to use AICS style mags but I'm not sure on the quality of it or if you can make them work with WSM cartridges. I've come across some mentions of another manufacturer CDI that supposedly makes one as well but didn't look too far into them.

Wsm cartridges plus detach mags = Sako, tikka or browning factory rifles. I haven't seen them on model 70's and even if it is possible it might get expensive.

If it is an early 90's it should be a push feed and it would be a re-chambered barrel or a replacement barrel as the WSM family came out in 2001 I believe. they came with the hinged floor plate not detachable but a gunsmith would be where I would contacting as I have not seen interchangeable magazines for them.

The absolute easiest, cheapest and most reliable way I know is to trade it in on a factory rifle in that caliber that has a factory detachable magazine.
