converting a x-bolt .338 winmag to precision , worth it?

was pondering the idea, was thinking maybe a stock and muzzle brake to start, or should i start fresh somewhere else. any help appreciated.

Your options with that particular platform as severely limited. If you really want to have the most options in aftermarket parts and dress up items you can not beat the Remington 700 platform.
I guess it depends on your definition of precision, anything Browning would not be my 1st pick in that department. Make no mistake Browning makes a decent rifle, but they are pretty much all they ever will be right out of the box.
