I recently purchased a Jericho 941F. One of the police trade ins that popped up last week. I am now wanting to convert it to DA/SA. it is currently SA only. meaning you have to draw the hammer back. Has anyone successfully done this? I am assuming its not a big deal as these were customized for the police department as to force them to carry with an empty chamber and include racking the slide as part of their presentation when escalating use of force. anyway. where to begin? Any help would be helpful

Thanks!

Here is a pic for those who are curious.

Ordered one as well, still waiting for it to show up, I’ll be keeping mine SAO, I’ll confirm when I get it but all you should need to do is add a disconnector, which will most like be the exact same as a Tanfoglio, since these guns are essentially a Tanfoglio, they make the innards, and there used to be a video around a long time ago showing the Tanfoglio making these pistols and sending them to Israel for assembly but the Video has since disappeared. I have atleast 2 disconnectors laying around from tanfo’s ive converted to SAO, I’ll confirm they will work with this gun hopefully Friday if it shows up, if not then on Monday, and I’ll send you one, just pay postage. I also have a trigger that has an over travel screw in it as well,
Did your come with the black plastic part on the trigger guard?

Why would you want to do that? That gun was made a certain way for a reason. Leave it alone, its better the way it is.

If you have a decent holster it is perfectly safe to holster it with one in the chamber and the safety on. The draw and rack thing was mainly to compensate for garbage holsters.

Just buy one of the commonly available Jerichos instead of bubba'ing this one

Yes, except, the full size steel is very hard come by in 9mm; and even harder to find without the decocker; a couple dealers have them in .40 with the slide mounted decocker (I have one and love it).

I wouldn’t say that hard to find, unless your referring to the version with no rail, then yes that is difficult these days, and frame mounted safety is extremely hard to find.

You are a gentleman and a scholar. I have a sneaking suspicion it is going to need a trigger as well to convert. Because the trigger currently installed does not have the ability to travel forward enough to be in the double action position. It remains back in the cocked position all the time. Its the trigger itself. I noticed this today when cleaning it. Look at the front where it meets the frame. Either way I hope yours turns out excellent as well and that we figure this out. Mine did not come with the black plastic thing, I assume this was to again help protect against ND by closing the extra space in the trigger guard. It did however come with a large amount of what appeared to be tan colored dust absolutely caked into all the nooks and grooves. Yours will probably be the same. I disassembled mine and cleaned it with a stiff toothbrush in a sink full of hot water and Palmolive. Then dried it with the wife's hair drier gave it a nice CLP soaking and a wipe down. Very impressed overall with the condition.

Iam excited, I hope its in good shape like yours. I'll be in touch with you through PM as well. Wish I could have got on in black and silver

Looking forward to hearing from you. The chrome finish one is supposed to be quite limited in numbers. So might be more valuable in the future. Who knows....

I have a gun like light that, but it is not one of these surplus ones, I have a newCZ75 mag, it was not wanting to lock in, one stroke with a fine file on the top of the notch in the mag and it is 100%
This is a DA gun that someone put a SA trigger in, but did not work as it trigger was not going a head enough to reset.
everything else is still DA inside, but works Sa.

It has the frame safety, no decocker, I like it , But the barrel is toasted, I have to find a new one , any one have ideas?
Wonder about a Tanfoglio barrel?, Never had one to look at.
I am surprised these are selling as good as they are , as I bought new Jericho's for 600.oo 2-3 yrs ago.

Well got mine today! Not as nice shape as yours OP. Stripped it right down for a cleaning. it was pretty grungy. Soon discovered which parts were interchangeable with Tanfoglio and which weren't.

Parts that are not interchangeable are:
Safety
Main spring strut.

The rest seems to be the same.

The trigger that comes on these trade-ins is specially designed for the SAO pistol, It has extra material on the front so it will not allow the trigger to move forward like a DA trigger will on reset. So if you want a DA/SA I will have to send you a trigger as well with the hammer disconector.

I swapped the sear to a polished one I had, Changed out the trigger bar plunger spring to a lighter one as well as polished it and the plunger head. And swapped out the hammer to a Tanfoglio one I had polished. But I will be switching it back to the regular Jericho one as I want to keep this pistol looking original.

Trigger pull is just under 2 lbs now and its very nice! Might creep up a little when I put the original hammer back in if I don't do some polishing.

Made some interesting combos with a Tanfo and Armalite I have. You'll see in the photos.

Difference between a Tanfo hammer and Jericho, This is not the hammer I put in the gun, Just a spare for a reference photo. The Jericho main spring strut is more like a CZ75.

That Armalite frame is really cool. I am interested to know what they called their model since this pistol goes by a hundred different names. I read your PM it seems like a lot of work to convert it over. In your opinion do you think it is worth it?

The Armalite is called the AR-24. Built in turkey under Sarsilmaz when they and Tanfoglio had a partnership. Good underrated gun.

As for the DA/SA that's 100% personal preference. Some guys like the DA trigger and some guys like me like SAO, I usually convert most my pistols to SAO if I can. It would be a bit of work to do especially if your not comfortable taking the guns down. And cant 100% guarantee it will work without a hiccup. A lot also depends on the trigger bar, And since each part can be a little different there's no telling if it would work 100% Should have tried last night but it got late.
