I agree with this sentiment. One can keep the original look by adding a barrel shroud too.

Another thing worth thinking of: do you really think that they're not coming for the other semi auto black rifles either? This was just the first of a couple waves in my opinion. So sure you can build a restricted Black Rifle out of one of these receiver sets but then you expose yourself once again to another wave of bans, and this time at a greater loss in value.

Anyone who thinks that these bans are going to result in owners being paid the full value of their property, accessories, ammunition, etc. is out to lunch.

Just because these rifles aren't banned yet doesn't mean they won't be. Quite frankly I'm very surprised that they haven't been yet.

I see that side, my math got me to $1,500 CDN equivalent for what they paid in NZ but guns cost more there and also that might not have factored in processing/man hour costs.
If we got 1k a rifle here i'd be out 5k and with 3 optics that are meant speficically for the AR platform left collecting dust. A NR at least gives the ill advised option of civil disobedience in the event of a greater ban.
