Thinking of converting one of my AR's to 9mm, which would be the Norinco (not touching the other one) as a little side project and learning experience.

At this time, not at all interested in purchasing a JR, Thureon, Kel-Tec or any other PCC.

I'm thinking of purchasing a complete upper, either RRA or LWD. That way I don't have to tinker with the original upper and can easily switch back to 223. Either one of these uppers should have no problems attaching to any 223 lower correct, norc specifically?

As for the lower I keep the original and get a magwell block, but I don't see one for glock mags, therefore limiting my upper to RRA. Anyone know if there is one out there? Other than just purchasing a complete LWD lower?

As for replacing the buffer and hammer, I've read inconsistent information. Some say you don't need to, some say you do.

Anyways, would like to hear any feedback you guys might have. Thanks.

I have the RRA upper with the barell cut down to 11.5" with a lower set up for 5.56mm with the 9mm magwell. Works just tickey-boo but i was told if the barell is shorter you need to go the 9mm hammer and buffer and spring route. I have those parts and might swap them out just to see. Lone Wolf are the ones that make those Glock mag lowers. I love that little 9mm AR and I could try it out on my Nork 14.5" and it would probably still work good. Got the upper with the lower parts for a grand. You will neen the LAR mags from Questar.

Thanks cormann. Looks like rra is the only option without completely purchasing a new gun. I'll give this one a shot.

I think you will be more than happy with that RRA. You can always put a dedicated lower on it later if you want. I have mine on a RRA 9mm marked lower but I like my lowers marked caliber specific but I'm just anal that way.
