Well my friends, the hard part is over. I have convinced my wife to let me turn my .308 Remington 700 SPS Varmint into a full blown custom sniper rifle. These are the plans that I have for it. Your opinions are welcome.

2.0 AICS Stock (Black)
Harris Bipod (6"-9")
Krieger Barrel (26" unsure about twist ratio)
Jewell Trigger
Nightforce Scope Rings
Nightforce Base (20 MOA)
Nightforce 3.5-15 x 56 NXS (Mil-Dot Reticle)
Badger Ordanance Tactical Bolt Knob

Of course I am going to have the action true'd before I get the Krieger barrel but those are my plans as of yet. Let me know what you think.

Sounds great but I would go with McMillan stock...Also, 1-10 is twist is best.

Agreed. The only reason I would go with the 3.5-15 is if it was a hunting rifle and I needed the low mag for the bush. Still 5.5 is low enough for those situations too.

Yeah I was considering the 22x magnification however I thought it might be a little overkill for .308 but I guess that is what I will have to get!

Well I made her guilty I think. I told her that my parents did not believe in owning firearms and I am just trying to make up for that later in life. She knows I am a Gun Nut.

And btw I know she ain't been with no other man because she is one of those clingy women that stick to me like glue, do anything I'd ask and she cooks meals and does my laundry and cleans. Been with her 3 years no hiccups Zing...

You'll like the 22x when you're load testing at 100 or 200 yards......and then you'll like it at 1000+yards. 22x is definitely not overkill for a 308. Mine stays on 22x all the time.
