cooey .22magnum?

From what I can ascertain, Cooey went out of business in 1961, and the 22mag was introduced in 1959; hence they could only be ships passing in the night.

I saw one for sale around here somewhere.

Maybe on the used list at frontier?

You're right, Frontier has one for $149.95 in only FAIR condition. It looks exactly like the Model 75 which wouldn't sell for more than $75 in the same condition......must be something of a collector's item. Mike Shickele pointed out that Cooey closed down in 1961
& the Magnum round was introduced in 1959......it must have been the last model produced. Well $149.95 for one in FAIR condition is too rich for my blood! I'll pass.

.22mag

I have and shoot a Mossberg 320 (.22lr single shot) bored to chamber .22mag.This rifle is an excellent shooter and feels more than adequate with the increased chamber pressure. This conversion was done by a budding gun smith perhaps 20 yrs and 1000rds ago.Not saying it's a slam dunk but apparently some guns were built robust enough for a conversion.

Cooey never made a 22 mag ---1919 to 1961. That said there was some employee made special jobs after hours. A 30-30 made out of a ss shot gun frame comes to mind. When winchester took over in 1961 -1979 there was never a 22 mag listed.

Several model 75 single shot 22 have been reamed to 22 mag and the bolt face opened up to accept the 22 mag cartridge.----Cowboy
