Purchased some Cooey parts for a closed down gunsmith.

This bolt was marked --Cooey 39 Short--

No idea what it meant so took a picture and hopefully someone can answer my question if this is a standard bolt or is it short for some reason.................

ps: I no longer have a single shot Cooey to try the fit.

take care and thanks for looking

Greetings: Just my 2 cents worth here....I believe the Cooey firing pin effect is dependant on the lock-up at the rear of the bolt-shaft. If the length from the back of the bolt-handle is insufficient...either no fire or a random mis-fire situation can exist.....dependant on cartridge seating, rim-thickness, etc. Hope this casts some light on this...Best regards....Arctichunter

Cooey bolts, as made, wouldn't close. The rear of the lug was dressed back until the bolt would go into battery. Consequently, bolts aren't necessarily interchangeable. A used bolt may or may not work as a replacement in a used rifle.
Incidentally, that is a Cooey bolt, not Winchester-Cooey; the handle looks to be dovetailed and brazed to the body.

Yes tiriaq I believe it is. I can see a bit of brazing under the handle.

Older bolt for sure.

thanks for the input
