Cooey 39 Rings

I am wanting to scope a 39 with either two piece bases or Talley style rings which would allow more room to insert a cartridge over a one piece base. Has anyone done this successfully? Thanks in advance for any replies.

I usually use a piece of 3/8" dovetail stock from Brownell's and cut two pieces to fit the action leaving above the port completely clear... then I drill one hole in each base and drill the appropriate holes in the action and tap them 6x48. Counter sink the holes in the bases so the screw heads are flush. Just one screw in each base works fine.
