Took a trip to the range yesterday and there was a fellow there who was fiddling around with his .22, he seemed to have broken the firing pin so I let him shoot my toz-78 for the rest of the day. He was very pleased and gave me his broken gun. Its a cooey 39, nothing special, but it'll make a great gun for the little one's who accompany me to the range.

anyone know where I may find an extractor and/or firing pin?

Don't know, the last time I emailed Western Gun Parts and begged them to sell me parts for my Cooey Model 75's, they replied that 'they only deal with licensed'(???) gunsmiths, I didn't know you even needed a 'license' to be a gunsmith in Canada. Wierd, they won't sell you the parts because of 'liablity' issues. They had all kinds of parts for the Cooeys, though. I now have 2 junker Cooey model 75's one in a little better condition than the other, and no way of getting parts for them either. One of them has the bolt, the other not, and like your bolt, it needs a new extractor and extractor spring. No way to get the parts needed, headspacing is a bit of a question too.

If I say WGP is not helpful, no doubt someone will give me hell for saying it. . .

I got the same hassle from WGP. They won't be getting any of my money any time soon. It's sad, really, because they're only a 15 minute drive acros town for me.

You will have an easier time finding a complete bolt for the Cooey Model 39 than a firing pin, the ejectors are around but it is not an easy task to disassemble a bolt. Post your wants in the EQUIPMENT EXCHANGE section

I have ordered lots from WGP and I am not a gunsmith. They have never once given me a hassle, just recieved another order from them the other day.

My first gun was a model 39 I still have it. The bolt crapped out about a year after I got it and the bolt from a second rifle didnt headspace correctly. Finnally I was given a bolt by a friend who got it in a box of parts from here and my little rifle is back in action.

My cooey 39 is deadly accurate, your best bet would be and add in EE or any gun shop usually has a complete parts cooey 39 in the back. If all else fails Ebay.

Good luck

my 39 now lay's in a 75 stock, it was my first bedding job and now it is my favorite rifle, it's amazing what a difference a stock can make, my cheek weld and arms are in a more favorable position and shooting for a couple of hours after supper no longer hurts my neck

You would be best to replace the whole bolt anyway...extractors go for $15.00 to $20.00 alone when you can find them and are very difficult to install without breaking them. They are very brittle.....a used bolt off the EE forum here usually goes for $25.00 to $30.00.....

Would it be possible for you to post a pic of this? And how well does the barrel fit? I would be a great Idea.

Thanks in advance!
