Howdy folks,
I was able to make a bit of progress on the restoration of my cooey 60. I polished the bolt tonight. Looks pretty slick. However, it does mar up as soon as I put it back into the receiver, it being all gunked up ;-)

I was thinking of trying to blue the tubular magazine when I get a chance, however...I'm not exactly sure how to remove it. Seems like a pain in the arse hehe. Anyways, any instructions are welcomed!

You have to drill out the pin that goes through the feeder/ejector. No big deal. Drill one end and tap it out. If its too short to reuse, any old piece of welding rod, coat hanger or WHY will work. Just peen it over gently on both ends with a small hammer. Good luck!

Hmm, I was afraid of that. Oh well, at least this confirms it.

Cheers!

I've just started looking at cleaning up my old 60 as well. I don't have any tips to give yet but wouldn't mind getting some if you noticed anything odd while doing yours. I'm also in need of the magazine tube inner rod (spring loaded rod if I remember right). Not much luck in getting one yet. Was your 60 all together or did you have to look for some bits?

Happy Shootin',
Rob

Hey Rob, other than a bit of surface rust, mine is quite an accurate shooter and everything seems to work smoothly(cycling and ejecting spent cases works flawlessly). Extractor, bolt (just reshined it) and magazine all work perfectly. I fired about 100-200 rounds only through it so far, but didn't have a single problem with it firing federal game-shok, champions, CCI velocitor (or are they stingers?), winchester wildcats...granted, I didn't fire the entire boxes of each though.

After carrying it in the woods this weekend though, I was rather dissapointed at the heavy weight of the rifle. I was hoping for something much lighter. PM if you'd be interested in it, maybe we can cut a deal or something.

I took mine away from my wife, she was shooting way too well with it, bad for the ego. Every bit as accurate as my CZ452.

RLC, there are two mag tubes on the EE right now, think $30 each, dont remember the seller but hey, cant do all the work for you.
