so I'm a canadian who hasn't even shot a cooey let alone owned one :runaway:

I think I need to pick up a 60 (or other bolt model?) and a single shot :D

on pics of the 60 I see big screw knob on the bottom. which I assume is a take down? undo the one screw and the receiver comes out of the stock? anyone have some better pics of it together and apart?

and where and how do you load the tube mag?

what barrel lenghts did the 60 come in?

are they full size stocks or more kid size?

what models are the single shot ones?

THanks

I have two model 600s. They are both very accurate and easy to load. There is a slot in the tube and once you pull the tube out you just drop the rounds in. 12 long rifle or 15 longs etc. and insert the tube again. I think the 600 are a later version of the 60. The knob at the bottom does indeed allow the stock to be removed. To remove the bolt you then loosen bolt securing the tube magazine as I recall and slide the bolt out while engaging the trigger.

Google COOOEY FIREARMS MADE IN CANADA. Its the history book of Cooey firearms 1919-1979 by John Belton. It sells for about $15 and sometimes if you look on Ebay you'll find it also. Some very interesting facts such as Cooey never made and sold a semi auto rimefire. He had one on the planing board but it was not sold till Winchester took over.-----Cowboy

Cooey made the 600 repeater and model 39 single shot in full size and "youth" size stocks. I own a model 39 "Etonia" (made by Cooey for Eton's) thats downright tiny.

Winchester-1897 is right, the stock comes off both these rifles with single screw ahead of the trigger guard.

Good little rifles considering their cost.

Not sure where your getting your info but not much is right. Winchester made the model 600 after they bought Cooey out. They were not made in 2 stock sizes (60,600 or 39) The eatonia is is not a model 39. Man buy the bloody book and read and learn something before you start spreading BS-----Cowboy

I'm new to this and I'm looking for some parts for a cooey model 60, it's missing the spring and cap on the magazine
Cheers from Ottawa

Are you sure you aren't confusing the two single-shot Cooey's (the longer 75 and shorter 39)? Just asking politely.... ;)

armaopinto, try the E&E forums under "parts & bits" - put in a "WTB" ("want to buy" for those parts. Many, many CGN folk have Cooey's in various states of completion!

:)

Do you mean the mag tube? I sold a mag tube for a model 60 on the parts EE a few days ago for $15. Make sure its a 60 and not a 600 as they are not made by Cooey and are different length

Cyclone You are correct. The stocks were not available in different sizes. The 39 was the boys gun and 75 was man sized---Cowboy

It is a cooey repeater .22 model 60, the parts on the tube magazine are missing. I'm assuming it's a spring and a twist cap to hold the spring into place. I would post on E&E but my user account do not have sufficient privileges to access the forum, I only sign up Yesterday----cheers

Ya thats what I thought. I think if you ask for EE privileges you'll get them. If not google Western Gun Parts, they're in Edmonton. I think you'll find it easier to get the whole mag tube---anyways WGP will know the answer-----Cowboy
