A hunting buddy wants to put on a BSA dot on a Cooey 600. Might be for the kids, dunno. Anyhow, is there such thing as an adapter base that will adapt the rimfire dovetail to a weaver? I see Brownells has a weaver adapter 955 200 010AA page 371. Is this what he needs?

Cheers,
Rob

The biggest problem with a 600 Cooey is it ejects straight up... the scope needs to be high and the mount can not be over the port...

There is a Weaver Nº60A Top Mount Base which has both tip-off and Weaver "ribs" on it which is intended for mounting on the barrel, extending back over the receiver. Depending how far forward you put it, the red dot could sit over the breech, out of the way of ejection. You'd have to d&t the barrel, though, and probably remove the rear sight as well.

Along with the what Josquin mentioned, Weaver has a side mount base for the 600 but you still have to drill and tap the receiver. It's about the only way to get the bolt handle and the ejection out of the way. Try sirmailorderdotca in Winnipeg. They run about $15 plus shipping.
