I have seen threads on this, but search is failing me. Lots of Cooey 600 threads, but none with disassembly instructions.

To pull the bolt I think I recall it is necessary to pull the action out of the stock to allow the mag tube to slide fore/aft, is that correct? Any other tricks/kinks I need to know about to do a thorough cleaning?

This gun was owned by my GF's mother and it has seen some hard miles. I want to at least clean it up and see how it shoots, then maybe refinish it if the functioning is sound.

Thanks,
Mark

I have a 1969 Canadian Winchester dealers manual that shows the parts breakdown and numbers for Cooey/Winchester models. I could copy and send you the breakdown for the 600 if you like. However, the above instructions are correct. Just don't get carried away re-tightening the locking nut or you could bend the tube.

I second that motion.

It works for stripping the Cooey 60, stripping the Cooey 600, assembly, disassembly, and all general Cooey bolt woes for those repeaters....;)

And yes :p , I did pepper the above with "searchable" terms !....:D

So, in that spirit :yingyang: , the field-strip of the Cooey begins at around 4:55......
