cooey 64 charging handle replacement

Anyone know where to find a longer charging handle for a Winchester cooey 64 semi auto. The factory knobbed one is short and a real ##### to use with a scope
 
How much does the weight factor in against the timing?
Dip lists one but they won t ship international. The part they list is for the savage 64 so I assume it could work for the cooey version? I'm not willing to risk a one sided white glove romance to smuggle one in so could metal be welded to the factory handle to increase length or should I have someone remake the part longer?

Above this post is a link to the EE of a guy selling what you need. No Customs, No nothing, already in Canada.
 
Saw a Sterling SMG cocking handle used on one years ago. No idea if anything was needed to be done to fit it. Pricey things from Marstar at $25 each though. Might find one for less at a gun show.
I've always pulled the op handle on my Cooey from the bottom. Mind you, it's a Bushnell .22 scope.
