Cooey 64 extractor?

Go too a local gun smith and ask him to order you a extractor for a cooey/lakefield/savage model 64. Lakefield and savage extractors should fit the cooey since they are the same rifles

Not unless I take it to him assembled, he disassembles it, "fits" the part himself, then assembles it and tests it out!:puke:

Sheesh no thanks, that would cost more than the gun.

I just want the damn piece of flat wire and get it running again:(

Oh, and the Savages are a totally different set up

I am here. the early 64s had a wire ejector..... not extractor. The flat metal extractor is held in with a tiny screw. the wire ejector fits in the slot on the left side of the bolt.

I cannot seem to get pics on here. The extractor is on the bottom of the bolt. You can see it thru the mag port. holding the gun butt in your left hand and looking into the port....the top slot on the bolt holds the extractor in with a screw, it runs forward towards the barrel and has a tiny hook on it that engages the flange on the bullet casing.

the more modern 64s have a flat metal ejector that fits the slot on the bolt
