Good Day,

I have received a Cooey Model 64 A in dire need of some TLC. Previous owner(s) had an issue with feeding so it sat in the safe for quite some time.

Nice little rifle but I noticed that the end of the muzzle is threaded and the piece is missing

In viewing various pics on line, it is either for a threaded cap or a muzzle brake, but in either case where would one find one??

I have tried Numrich and a few other sites to no avail.

Thanks in advance

' Fixes' - Pic heavy

Hi - Hope you're able to get that 'running right'. Those are nice old rifles. As for the flash-hider that came with my Sav-64 , it's just standard 1/2-20 thread. See pic. The Cooey might be diff ? Check with a standard nut or thread gage.
As for the feeding, that's a common issue with 64s. Hope yours is not the 'plastic mag' one, but they can be 'upgraded to steel mag with a repl. mag well. The problems with the metal mags is mostly due to 'sloppy' mfg of the mags - they're 'pot-metal' and I've used JB-weld to 'adjust' them to fit my rifle. And lightly polish the ramp of the well to improve travel. I also polished all sides of the sear and did some other stuff. The trigger return spring was replaced with about 1/3 of a bic spring - PULL is now ca 2#, for the mag release I drilled and put a bit of coat-hanger wire with a dab of JB. And 'opened' the mag well. Guess you'd say " Lotsa Bubba, there".
