Cooey 64B worth the time?

I inherited a good looking Cooey 64B with 3 original mags. The online reviews seem pretty mixed about them, just looking for a decent reliable .22 plinker. The rifle has no scope or mounts so before I look into putting optics on it I was wondering if it's worth doing so or should I just pick something more modern up?

The rifle has no sentimental value but it's just collecting dust right now. From what I read I should be able to use most Savage 64 parts?

Did you keep your 64b? Interested in it if you haven’t got rid of it yet. Thanks

If its the old plastic mags they are maybe worth more then the rifle, they are near impossible to get.

Great rifles. I've had one for over 30yrs. Easy takedown. I use the metal mags. I find it helps to slightly file the feed lip for better angle and mags feed nicely. When it gets dirty a quick spray can cleansing with some cleaner and its back to running like a top. CCI Blazer and Federal bulk seem to be it's favourite.
