I was thinking of buying a Cooey 75 but wondered if it's possible to scope it.
Has anyone here put a scope on it & if so, how difficult was it & were you happy with the results?
Thanks~ Andy

The 75 is a great starter rifle. I have two, and think they are great. I learned to shoot on one. My son will eventually too!

However - they are best NOT scoped. There are many other cheap .22's (even the semi auto cooeys) that can be scoped much easier.

The 75 is an accurate single shot with open sights - any attempt to make it something different will not be worth the money.

I put a scope on my old 75....you have to drill and tap the holes on the top of the receiver and have the correct screw length so they do not bind the bolt. the work and scope c/w mounts can be more than the guns worth . best let a smith do the drilling as the holes have to be correctly spaced and aligned.

From the "I have heard" department - JB weld used to secure weaver scope bases to the 75.

Agree thought with the preceding posts - it is what it is, get a model 750 single shot, 60 bolt action repeater, or model 64 semi auto that came drilled & tapped or grooved. The 750 may be a better first rifle as lighter, shorter barrel, smaller stock. Note though that no all 750s or 60s came drilled and tapped (though I do believe that all 64s came grooved but wait for some-one to say yeah or nay to that).

Yup..All my Cooey 64s are factory grooved...none tapped. The Cooey 60 I have is factory drilled and tapped for the side mount scope. It would probably be better as it is a repeater instead of a single shot. I found the 75 stock very bulky so only used it as a target rifle to be bench shot. Accurate but boring doing it one at a time....lol...lol.

No scope on mine. Iron sights, just as God and "Mr Cooey" intended. I find the boring part comes from the accuracy not the fact it is a single shot. Tiny little groups all day.
