Cooey 82 value?

There are folks who collect 82's. Condition and markings are everything. Last one I bought (in very good condition) I paid $125 for, and then added the correct peep sight. One of my favorite 22 rifles. - dan
Nice little collectible rifles but don't pay an arm and a leg...they show up for like $200 or so regularly on the EE.

Some are not military a marked either. Many are rusted badly under the woods. Caution is the word unless you just want to shoot it. Many seem to be turning up lately but priced too high.
I have one ( $200 ) without any mil stamps .
Top condition and a nice deep walnut stock.
It came with leaf sights but I found some peeps and added a newer Canadian Enfield sling. I can get some serious accuracy out of this babe.

I've got a few... well more like a collection of parts, all military marked, but the previous owner misplaced all the bolts 
They were also sold at Eatons for 5 years in the late 40s, some of these guns were milsurp others were factory surp with no markings. To my understanding there where 3 different stocks and what you got was just the luck of the draw, There were the true full wood stock like the gun above (that is just beautiful) , a sporterized version and a version that had a completely different stock that is pretty much the same style as any modern sporting rifle. (like mine) I belive all of them came with peep sights. I know many of the Cadets used them for quite some time for training .

Fyi, they where made as cheaper training rifles for Lee Enfield training. The number 7 was expensive to produce. So mine is part of my enfield collection, as it part of the enfield story. I believe a lot got messed with so originals are fewer. My .02c
