So, i started taking apart the cooey, going to re- finish the stock on it. I couldn't figure out how to remove the stock from the receiver, i i punched out the 2 pins with no luck of it coming apart. Any ideas?

Second question- I tried putting the pins back in, i can get the upper pin in no problem, but the bottom won't go. The trigger mechanism (or something in there) is in the way, and I'm unable to move anything in there with a pick. When i put the upper pin back in the hinge lever won't move (everything siezes up). Any ideas here?

thanks.

Now you have to remove the stock. Remove the mainspring, put that bottom pin back in through the hammer. Then compress the mainspring and put it back in place. It will be clear what needs to be done once the butt stock is removed.

Looks like this, I just blued a couple more of those last week

heres mine, did a stock refinish with a stain and poly, then stripped and sanded the receiver and barrel, and did a black powder coat of professional rust paint. ive since chopped the stock to make it a one handed grip, and chopped the barrel down to 21 inches, and IMP CYL

cool, gotter' figured. Turns out that main spring is the most difficult thing in the world to get in place. any tips? half hour later of trying to compress the spring with a set of needle nose its time for a break.

I use a set of needle nose vise grips with the tips ground flat to fit between spring coils, yes, they can be fun. You can see tham sitting beside the pic of the 2 recievers.

See that little hole in that part? It line's with another little hole inside of it. to get them to line up gently START to #### but don't go all the way! When you can see light right thru the entire part put a paper clip/straight pin right thru it all then release the hammer. That part will now fall out of the receiver giving you room to re insert the main pin.
You 'll probably have to rotate it/them to line it all up.

Bead blasted to clean up, polished 140 on soft felt in pitted areas, then 140-400 on loose muslin, then #6 glass beads at 80#, then blued hot caustic, cerakoted aluminum trigger guard and barrel release levrr to match

If the pieces are loose, out of the gun, you will have to compress the three pieces together, and then get a little slave pin through the holes to hold the assembly together while you re-assemble the action. Use a vise.

well, thanks a ton for the advice. Turns out using a vice, and a cotter pin made things DEAD simple. Anyway, got this project complete and figure I'd share the results. I'm pretty happy with it, i might cut down the fore grip a little to make it a little more balanced. I call it the "cooey mini 12"

And this one for size comparison, and with its bigger polished brother up above :D

Sorry for a crappy celly pics
