Cooey 840 Value?

I have recently acquired a Cooey 840 16ga.
30” barrel.
Appears to be in pretty good shape!



Zero experience with shotguns, not my thing.
Wondering what it’s worth?

Maybe $250 but 16ga ammo is a bit hard to find these days. I like the older 84s better. Less plastic.

I think $250.00 would be top range for an 840. I'd say more like $150.00-$175.00 private sale. Would be worth more if it was a model 84.

175 to 250. Limited market though for the 16.

Thanks for everyone’s input. Inherited it from my wife’s uncle. Best to just keep it as a family heirloom I think. It came with a variety of ammo. Should be fun to try it out before I store it away. Any concern with old shot gun shells if they look to be in good condition? Quite old, price tag on the boxes of 25 is around $3.00!

If the shells have been kept dry you should have issues. I shot lots of 40 to 50 year old ammunition.
