Cooey 840

A Winchester 840 is the same thing. This won't help a whole lot, but at least you'll have an exploded drawing. Add the W's.

Make sure firearm is unloaded. Then to remove the fore end , grip the front of the wood and pull down. Then remove the barrel by opening gun as if to load and lift barrel off. To remove stock, remove butt plate and use a long blade screwdriver to unscrew long screw that holds stock on. When stock is off, most of the inner parts of the gun are visible and can be removed. The springs can be removed easily by inserting a staightened paper clip into the little hole in the spring seat when the spring is compressed. Be sure to take a picture or do a drawing of where everything goes so that it can be replaced in the proper location ,a week or two after all work has been done on it, it is easy to forget where everything is supposed to go. Do not remove or try to remove the pins on the side of the receiver , they are not supposed to come out unless you are a gunsmith and have extra pins to replace them with. And this gun has not been made for about 30 years, so there may not be any of those pins available.
