Just wondering how these things shoot and where could I find a single set trigger for one.Mine has the double trigger on it .It used to be a hair trigger but something has happened to it and it takes about a 10lb pull to set it off.I read on some states forum that eatons recalled them all but not sure how much truth there is to that. They seamed to think it was a ammo problem.Any info on that would be great.I am just tinkering with it and have some dies and brass on the way .I would like to shoot it and use it as a beater rifle if it doesn't cost to much.It is in really good shape and I think it hasn't bin shot much.I have the weaver side scope mount on it and a old 4 x scope.Just curious about and any info would be greatly apprieciated.

Have you taken apart the trigger mechanism to see if anything is amiss? If there has been a change from hair to heavy like you said then it could possibly be reversed without additional expense.
Just a thought :)

Hey Black powder
What do you mean it can be reversed.I took the action and barrel and trigger clip assembly out of the stock and it seems like its the piece that is still on the action that is stiff but will do some cleaning and oiling on it and see if that helps.
Thanks

Not to sure Ganderite,It looks the same as the carcano's other than the barrel and stock.
It has bin converted to a 6.5 x 54 MS

Got the trigger working, cleaned everything good and barrel is clean, scope is mounted and boresighted, just waiting for brass and dies.

Mine has the 6.5mm stamped on top, barrel looks to be welded to the nut and alignment screw on the bottom.
You think they would have better markings on them.
Will find out forsure when I get the brass

Careful many will chamber either round Carcano or MS.....the Carcano is .267-.268........check but the Cooey sleeved chamber stub had a .264 barrel held in place by a screw on the bottom. They were marked 6.5 Harold

Got my brass and dies today ,made up some 130 gr accubonds that were pulled and some H380 and sighted it in then tried a couple groups. It cloverleafed 3 shots about 2 " @ 50 yards.I expected worse so will play with the load a bit and see if I can't tighten them up.The trigger seemed to work nicely it is probably at about 2 lbs I would guess.A buddy borrowed my trigger pull gauge so when I get it back I will test it.
I would still like to get a single trigger for it as I think it would be better for the nephews to shoot with .
