I'm in the process of seeing if I can't get my hands on Cooey Mod. 60 that a buddy found hidden in his attic. The exterior looks kind of rough and is definitely in need of some TLC. The real pig is the fact that the stock is missing, though the stock retention bolt seems to be there. So far, I've only seen a picture so if, and when, I get my hands on it I'll be able to make a more accurate assessment. As it stands, I'll need a stock and the trigger guard. I plan to contact Western Gun Parts, since they've been pretty nice to me over the years and once in a while rifle stocks come up in local auctions. Anyone with any other suggestions or ideas, I'd appreciate your input. Anyone with a baffed out donor rifle, please contact me. Thanks guys.

I have a Cooey 60; an acquaintance brought over a Cooey 600 with "issues" - had to disassemble my 60 to see - the mounting apparatus that holds the stock to the barrelled action is not the same - both use a bracket that is dovetailed into the bottom of the barrel, but different attachments to that. My 60 has a threaded rod and a lock nut into that bracket that seems to set the drag tension on the magazine tube , then has a knurled round nut that is captive in the metal trigger guard; his 600 has a "bolt" that has exterior threads that turns into that bracket, but also drilled and threaded through its centre - then a separate screw, in a metal ferrule, within his fore stock. Did not try to swap them, but would not be a "drop in" exchange between a 60 and a 600.

Picture of that Cooey 600 - yes, the attaching bracket is ripped out of the dovetail on the underside of the barrel - source of his "issues" - but notice the short bolt that is turned into that bracket, and then that smaller screw goes through a ferrule in the rifle stock to hold the thing together. Will not be the same on a Cooey 60.
