Hey guys,

I was wondering if anybody has a peep sight that they use on their tube fed Cooey instead of the original sight? I have a Cooey Ranger that shoots high, and I'm not all that fond of the stock sight anyhow, so I was thinking I'd be nice to have a .22 with a peep in the rear. (Especially because this seems to be an accurate little gun)

I don't really want to mount a scope.
Of course a mount would have to be fitted to put the thing on there, but does anyone have any recommendations as to what type/brand of sight to use, and where to get it? I hear good things about the Williams models, however, I wouldn't be looking to spend too much money on a sight to fit the $100 dollar gun. :p

Thanks!

If your Cooey has the factory predrilled holes (4) on the left side of the action, you may choose to mount a scope. If no holes are present, you will have to have a gunsmith do that for you at about $30 a hole, . The Mossberg peepsights ( 2 holes)will certainly work. and these sights cost average of $50. The rear of the action can be milled flat and a Cooey Model 82 peep sight mounted, again with a tapped hole. But would probably cost over the value of the $100 gun you have.

gyates93,
I've got a couple of Cooeys myself, one of which was purchased for my son to learn on. To make it easier for him to get a sight picture I had considered re-making the stock rear sight but, instead of a notch, having a peep/hole instead. All things being equal target aquisition would be faster, adjustment of elevation would be the same, and should you want to put it all back to stock, just undo one screw and install the factory rear sight. If this sounds like something you would be interested in then PM me and we can chat.
