Last weekend my dad gave me the gun I learned to shoot on, goo old Cooey Model 39. Hope to get my kids to learn on it when I eventually have some but the Poor Thing is light striking every round. I look at my striking surface and compare it to other pictures out there and it seems my in not coming all the way out. Think it might be the spring or something gummed up inside. Does any know how to take the bolt apart? Or got a Bolt I can buy off them?

Thanks guys!

You may want to think twice (and another ten times) before taking bolt apart. Should be simple enough to find a replacement bolt if need be but have you tried brake cleaner? Take bolt out of rifle, #### it / extend it to get at mechanism between the two halves and work at it? Have had one or two (or a dozen) and not encountered that as an issue on any.

Took your advice, saturated down into the crevis there and it worked! Took about 2 hours and half a can of aerosol gun cleaner. Gotta test fire it now! Thanks!

Happy to hear you're making progress and hope it works.

May find that brake cleaner is a little more aggressive and it also leaves behind no lube (some gun cleaners do) thus if use a carb cleaner may want to use something like G96, Ballistol, Frog Lube... to lube and inhibit corrosion).
