So I'll preface this by saying this is strictly refinishing, not conservation or restoration I'm no gunsmith.
Whilst I was refinishing a couple Enfields, I called my Dad to ask if he had an unreasonably long screw driver to take down the enfield stocks. And his ice fishing buddy overheard and asked if I could take a look at an old rusted up Cooey Model 60. It was his fathers and he was hoping I could make it functional once again.
And a bit of the process
And the finished product. I tried to style the dowels to look like knots in the wood grain. Not too sure how successful it was but it came out alright.
Was a fun time and hopefully My Dad's friend is pleased with it.
