My friend has a cooey model 600, and one of our co-workers borrowed his rifle without asking and ended up losing the rod that goes in the magazine...any thoughts on the best place to find a replacement ? we live on Vancouver Island...any thoughts or advice appreciated thank you

1) Co-worker needs a good kick to the nads
2) Rifle obviously not properly stored, to be taken by co-worker. Your friend also needs a kick to the nads.

What kind of meathead takes a rifle without asking and then loses parts off it? And how does one lose an integral part like the mag tube rod? I can understand having a spare mag fall out of a pocket, but that rod is either in your hand while you load the rifle or inserted and locked into the mag tube.

+1, that was a total a$$hole maneuver.

You need to apply for access to the Equipment Exchange. Scroll down to that area and click the link to apply. It usually takes a day or two for a mod to approve the request, then you can spend your money with the rest of us.

Oh yeah, welcome to the forum.

I needed a tube for my Cooey Model 60 last year, i threw up a WTB Want To Buy in the EE and I got 4 or 5 people put in offers. Cooeys are everywhere and so are the parts. I was able to get mine for 40 shipped.

I'd just march the offender back out from where he came from to find the mag tube. It's like 2 feet long and made from polished brass - how do you lose that? Tell him to lace his boots and retrace his steps until he finds it.

Other than a dissasembly/cleaning in the basement, I don;t know thatI've ever actually removed that part when shooting. You only need to slide it out about 2/3 the way before the ammo port is free for use. The guy not only 'borrowed' a gun without permission, but he borrowed one he didn't know how to use. Surprised he didn't try to stir the soup with it.

You don't have to physically take the rod out. If you don't lock the tube in place properly after loading it can fall out by itself.
