I recently inherited a Cooey "Model 64 A" Semi-Automatic .22, in the process of cleaning the rifle I bent (then broke while trying to straighten :mad:) a small paperclip like spring that attaches from a groove on the back left side of the barrel into a groove on the front left side of the bolt.

So I was wondering if anyone could;

A. Tell me the technical name and purpose of this spring is so I don't sound like a complete dumb-ass when trying to obtain this part

B. Offer suggestions as to where I could get a replacement spring, "preferably in the GTA or Ontario"

Thanks

PS

The Cooey seems to be very similar to the Savage Model 64 Autoloader, I have posted a picture from the Savage manual which shows the general location of the spring although the shape appears to have changed (very hard to tell from this picture though)

Cripes i'm all out,i gave the spares i had to various nuts to fix their guns.
Try western gun parts to order one.

Thanks for the info Ronin, I will try Western.

What is the springs purpose? I would think it's either for cartridge feeding or ejection but I'm really not sure.

That springy clip is the ejector

The best way to upgrade that to a sturdier unit is to find a 64b barrel and extractor.It's a way better design.
