Check out mags for the Savage 64, I think they are the same gun.![]()
I have my hands on an old semi-auto in nice condition, except the magazine (plastic) is cracked.
(Cooey Model 64)
Any suggestions where I might find magazines for this old plinker?

I've seen these rifles, even brand new, jam with hollow points. Just sayin', don't be shocked.
I have restored a few Cooey 64's with the conversion kit that cycle flawlessly with the cheap bulk Winchester 333 ammo that is hollow point. Depends on the gun I guess.
My 64 can also be very reliable but I've never seen a rifle so reliant on being clean. Holy hand grenade this thing will chew through ammo when it's clean but the first sign of carboning up and you're off to the jam-o-matic races. My old girl has all but been retired now from hard use and enjoys a life of bimonthly G96 baths and rub downs. Once in a blue moon I take it out rabbit hunting for nostalgia and it works great. One thing I've found though is it likes dry lubricants. I keep almost all my guns coated in G96 and some are smothered in Fluid Film but I brake clean this one down before using and apply a light dusting of fine graphite powder to the action before shoothing then after I've had it out I clean it and smother it in G96 again for storage.

I can confirm that the new Savage 64 mags do NOT fit the old Cooeys, I tried this and they seem to fit too high into the chamber making the bolt stick open.
You might be able to file it down enough to fit, but from the factory not in my experience.
Do you mean the Cooey 64 that used plastic magazines?
Or the later version with metal mags?
Because tons of people mix and match the metal mags between Cooey and Savage.
