What would it take to change the wire ejector over to the flat blade style
on these semi's?
Can it be done and what would be needed to do?
I'm having issues with the spring ah mah bub and it won't allow
the round to come off the mag into the chamber.
The mag is new, so this isn't the problem.
The wire ejector is in the way not allowing the round to enter the
chamber properly.
Long story about the wiring thing, this one is a replacement I just
got.
They are having fun with me again up above..........:runaway:

It's been a while since I looked at mine, but there ain't no wires any where in the rifle. Certainly not the ejector. Suspect somebody sold you the wrong part.

They used two styles.
I didn't think I'd have much luck trying to drill the hole bigger through the slot.
So I puttered with the shape until it works right.
Mod's, you can delete this thread fore'in it gits itself bent owtta shape.

I have done it. My 64 came with a wire ejector, but now sports a home-made "J" style plate. At the time I had both styles handy to compare.

If you have access to both, it's easier. If not, I'll happily strip mine and take some measurements for you. You will have to drill a hole in the barrel perpendicular to the bore (the newer style ejector has a protrusion that fits into this hole so it is retained). The channel that holds the wire needs to be deepened a smidge too. I did that with a Dremel and cutting wheel, passed it ack n' forth through the existing channel until new ejector laid in flush.

No other modification required. The bolt will accommodate either.

Before you really get into it though, I have to mention the wire-style are still available. There is no difference in performance to either style.

These have sucked the adorableness right owtta me.........
Now to go try them out.
There are two here, both styles of ejectors.
I prefer the solid metal ones verses the wire ones.
Less chance of rebending them when putting them back together.
