Hey all, this is my first thread. I'm pretty new to shooting and have just purchased my first .22.

I just picked up a Cooey 64B at auction. It looks to be in pretty darn good shape and I was able to pick it up for just $20 :D
Just wondering if anybody had any information or comments on that rifle model - tuning, cleaning etc.

thanks.

do a search on Cooey on this site. You will find most of what you want (manual, Savage 64 mags conversion)

Welcome to the sight. The mag conversion icefire mentioned is for the original Cooey 64's that had a plastic mag. Yours being a 64b, should have a metal mag already, so nothing to worry about there. These guns tend to be pretty reliable and accurate, especially for $20. Good score.

Thanks fellas. Yah it does have the metal mag, guess I got lucky there.
I stripped it down completely and gave it a good cleaning. Seems to be in good condition, now I've just gotta take it out and see what kind of groups I can produce.
cheers.

Cooey made super guns, you won't get 1" groups at 200 yards,, but neither will my Weatherby, not because of the gun,, cause of ME!!! Great .22's easy to use and clean,, welcome to the fold. My dad bought me a mod 39 for $7.25 at Mcleods when I was 12,, now have two XXcellent guns bought later, still love em.. Enjoy,,,,,,,,,:) :) :)
