Cooey model 82 trainer dummy mag????

When I was CO of Army Cadet Corps in Haliburton we were issued 3 M82 Cooey's with the "fake mags" to replace our functional NO 7's which we shot as well as using for ceremonial purposes. My understanding is that they were assembled for Cadet units to simulate FN"s for drill with arms. They were so ugly looking (at least to me) that they were returned to our support base at Trenton. We were issued 3 replacement DP # 4's which we used in flag parties , cenotaph sentries etc. That was about 10 yrs ago and I believe the unit still uses those DP # 4's for ceremonial purposes. Been CRA'd for about 5 years now. Miss the Cadets and the program not the bureaucracy.
