Cooey Parts

Extractor or ejector? Your facebook photo seems to show a broken extractor. The early Cooey extractors were a bent strip of spring steel. The ejector was a bent wire. These parts are long out of production and may be difficult to find. Your photo shows a cast magazine housing. That is from the later version of the rifle. The early model used a plastic magazine which was replaced by diecast one - still used in the Savage 64. It was common for rifles to be upgraded to use the metal magazines.

Does anyone know who bought Cooey Bob's collection of Cooey parts and guns. I beleive it was someone from Ontario.
I know atht he used to have everthing anyone would need to repair a Cooey

I wll ask aroung and if I get that info I will post it up

Wouldn't the modern savage have the same extractor?
I recall ordering such parts directly from savage arms when I first joined this forum, also for a Sears 6c

early style extractor held in with the screw obsolete if a ejector is needed could possibly be the wire type obsolete
this version has been discontinued since 1978 -80
Yep, my 6c was new enough to have the later style it seems

Looks like i sourced some bent wire ejectors from WGP years back, I'd check there for extractors

The OP, being in the States, maybe doesn't check back here to update. He got extractor, but needed the spring-wire ejector. I found those in stock at Saskatoon Gunshoppe......so he's golden I believe.
