Cooey`s how many built?

It seems like everyone owns one, or did at one time. I know they rarely serial numbered them, and the literature I have has no production numbers but they must have made a pile of them. Anyone have any info on a total production number over the 60 or so years they were made?

I read that it is unknown exactly how many were sold mostly due to no production numbers. But one site I was looking at said 12+ million but I think that was all of their models.

My gf's father has one and this thing is more reliable and acurrate than my Ruger 10/22. My gf's father was was hitting the red zone at 300 feet with nothing but the iron sights it originally came with.

Thats what I meant. All models total production.
