I took a notion that I would like to take a plain, inexpensive rifle and 'jazz' it up a little. My husband did all the metal work, and I did all the wood.
I thinned and reshaped the forend with a Schnabel. Re-worked the grip and added a walnut grip cap. Checkered both the fore and butt stocks at 22 lines per inch. Checkered the butt plate end and refinished with an oil rubbed finish and polished with some luthier pumice, then rottenstone. This is the first complete gun that I've modified.
